The Plan

Sunday, June 26, 2022 – Teams may arrive and set-up at 3pm.  Check in will be at 3:30pm.

Judging will take place at tba.  Awards and trophies will be announced immediately after.

Fires must be of wood, wood pellets, charcoal, gas or electric.  All spaces will be on a first come first serve basis.  All spaces are approximately 10’ x 20’. 


Contestants shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless MOW of HC, its officers, agents and volunteers shall not be responsive or labeled in any way for any losses, costs , damages, labilities, debuts or expenses incurred by participants of the Sip & Sliders cook off, its parents or subsidiaries, affiliates, success or assigns as a results of any acts, omission or negligence of any person, firm, partners or corporation attending or partnering with the grill off where or the act, omission or negligence occurs prior to during or following the grill off.

Rules & Regulations

  1. This event is open to everyone, professionals and amateurs.  

  2. Each team shall consist of 1 -2 people.

  3. Each team will be assigned a cooking space.  All equipment shall not exceed the boundaries of the cooking space.

  4. Teams shall not share equipment.

  5. Contestants shall provide all needed equipment and supplies, except as arranged for in advance.  Contestants must adhere to all electrical, fire and other codes.

  6. It is the responsibility of the contestants to ensure that the team's assigned space is cleaned or orderly following the contest.  All  equipment and trash removed form site.

  7. Fires shall be of wood, charcoal, gas or electric heat source.

  8. Each contestant must submit two burgers and two hot dogs for our judges to sample.

  9. All safe food handler procedures must be followed.

  10. Burgers and hot dogs should reach a cooking temperature of 165.

  11. People’s Choice Award – contestants must prepare 35, 2 ounce sliders to be sampled and voted on by our attendees.

Judging Procedures

Judging will be done by a team of 3 people.  Entries will be submitted in the numbered containers provided by the judges.  

All entries will be scored on a scale of 1 through 10, with 10 being the best.

Burgers and hot dogs will be judged based on the criteria below.

Burgers – flavor, presentation, creativity

Hot Dogs – flavor, presentation, creativity
